Quality Improvement Toolkit For Early Diagnosis Of Cancer
Published: 30th November 2017This toolkit is to help GPs and their practice teams to improve their early diagnosis of cancer
principally by using the findings from the National Cancer Diagnosis Audit (NCDA).
The NCDA is an audit of primary and secondary care data of patients diagnosed with cancer. It helps us understand patterns of cancer diagnosis for all cancer types. The audit looks specifically at clinical practice in order to understand:
- Interval length from patient presentation to diagnosis
- Use of investigations prior to referral
- The referral pathways for patients diagnosed with cancer
