I have recently completed GP training in Liverpool in July 2018. I am now working with Salford Primary Care Together as a GP Fellow in Quality Improvement. I work as a GP two days a week across Eccles, Little Hulton and Lower Broughton areas in Salford and spend the rest of the week working on Quality Improvement projects at the practices. The fellowship is supported by Salford CCG together with Haelo and AQuA, which are Improvement Science Centres based in the North West.
I have had an interest in medical leadership and management since I undertook an intercalated BSc degree in Medical Education in 2010 at the University of Leeds during my undergraduate training. I have since completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Leadership at Lancaster University and I am currently working towards the Masters in Medical Leadership during my fellowship.
I am excited to apply the academic learning I’ve gained together with the practical skills I’m currently learning regarding quality improvement to help improve patient care and the healthcare services in General Practice and Primary care in the Salford region. I hope to use the GP Excellence programme to continue to learn, spread and share improvements in the way we work in primary care across Greater Manchester.
